When I first put this EP on, I was irate. The first track to lick the inside of your ears is none other than a rap track. RAP (I like old rap, not this kind)?!?!! With auto-tune no less? Auto-tune and emo vox that creeps up in other tracks as well? Fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck.
Luckily all is not lost because of the vocal atrocities. This is some very broad-ranging music by these Finns. Seriously, there is something for everyone in this music. Someone will love the vocals, the guitars, the drumming, the rapping, or everything. Same goes with people absolutely loathing it. Catch my drift? This stuff can get really good. Sometimes I want to turn it off but then stuff like 1:30-2:23 of “Exotic diseases white” happens. “In my heart” is drenched in auto-tune and I hate it just for that even if it has good parts. Except they’re not out to impress me, but a group of people that like that kinda of crap. Which you’re not going to find around here, mind you.
Their hard rock parts work very well. The sound and style is very modern but doesn’t have that annoying quality that the rest of modern music has to me, though it will creep up from time to time. If I was at someone’s place and they had this EP on, I wouldn’t say anything. I don’t shy away form saying if I think something sounds bad, so hopefully my previous sentence should mean something.
If you’ve got an open mind towards music go ahead and check it out. If you’re close-minded, I’d probably avoid it.
